Flashroom: Retro Photo Booth
Flashroom creates photos, photo strips and contact sheets on your device. Supported versions also capture short silent movement around each photo for optional Boomerang, moving-print and Live Photo exports. Photos remain the default presentation. Availability of a particular export or social destination depends on your version and device.
Camera, photos and local processing
Camera access is requested when you enter the camera. Photo capture, filters, optional person segmentation, background replacement and print rendering run on your device. These features do not upload your camera images or recordings to our servers for processing. Person segmentation separates people from a background; it is not used to identify you.
Prints and their associated media are stored in the app’s local library. They remain until you delete them or remove the app. Device backups, iCloud Photos and copies exported elsewhere follow your Apple settings and the policies of those services.
Saving to Photos requests the relevant Photos permission. The TikTok sharing flow can request read/write Photos access because its Share Kit transfers selected media through the system photo library. Exported copies can remain in Photos after sharing; remove them there if you no longer want them. You can change camera and Photos access in iOS Settings.
Optional sharing to Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok and other apps
Sharing starts only after you choose a destination and tap its share action. Flashroom prepares the photos or video you selected and hands them to the destination app through its supported sharing interface, temporary pasteboard data or the iOS share sheet. You decide whether to send or publish in the destination app.
Flashroom does not ask for your social password, read your social profile or contacts, or automatically publish to your account. The destination receives the selected content and may process account and technical information under its own privacy policy. Publishing and deleting copies there are controlled by that service.
Temporary app-to-app pasteboard data expires. A successful handoff only means a sharing app accepted the request; it is not confirmation that a post was published.
Purchases, analytics and feature experiments
Apple handles subscription payments. Flashroom uses StoreKit to check entitlements and Apphud for subscription reporting. We do not receive your payment-card details.
Flashroom uses Firebase, Mixpanel and AppsFlyer for product analytics, configuration, experiments and attribution. Technical identifiers, app/device information and events such as booth selection, completed prints, purchases, saves and sharing handoffs help us understand use and reliability. Photos and video contents are not included in these analytics events. Product analytics can operate without access to Apple’s advertising identifier; denying tracking permission does not turn off all operational analytics.
Firebase Remote Config may assign installations to different feature presentations, such as showing the optional sharing editor after a print. This changes the interface, not your decision about whether to publish.
Provider details, legal bases, international transfers and retention principles are described in the full mobile-app privacy policy.
Your choices and privacy rights
You can delete prints from the app, manage exported copies in Photos and other apps, and revoke device permissions in iOS Settings. Deleting a local print does not delete copies already sent to another person or service and does not cancel an Apple subscription.
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct or erase personal data, restrict or object to processing, receive a portable copy, withdraw consent where consent is the basis, or complain to a supervisory authority. Contact office@justetools.co.uk. The full policy explains these rights and retention in more detail.
For other Juste Tools apps, use the policy linked within that app. Their features and data processing may differ from Flashroom. Terms of Use →
