How to share a photo strip in an Instagram Story
By Juste Tools · Published
A narrow photo strip usually needs space around it to fit a full-height Story. Export the whole strip, place it inside the Story frame and preview the result before publishing. Keeping all four photos visible is more useful than filling every pixel of the screen.
Give the strip some breathing room
Start a Story using the exported image and adjust its size in the composer available in your version of Instagram. If the app crops the image automatically, scale it down or place it on a background in an editor first. Interface labels and layout options can change, so use the visible preview as your final check.
- Keep the first and last frame away from the screen edges.
- Leave clear space for the interface near the top and bottom.
- Put a caption beside the strip rather than over somebody's face.
Choose a background that helps
A plain colour picked from the strip border keeps the composition calm. A busy photo behind four small portraits can make everything harder to read. If you use stickers, start with one and check the strip at normal phone size.
A 2×2 contact sheet is an alternative when a vertical strip looks too small. The sequence is different, but each expression can be easier to recognise.
Share only the intended version
Confirm that everyone pictured agrees with the audience you have chosen. Preview for accidental location details or personal objects in the background. Keep the original export separately: a Story download or screenshot may have overlays or compression and is a poorer starting point for a later print.
